Mrs Halkett’s daughter, Cathy West, lives and works in Singapore as Chatsworth Kindergarten’s Principal. Within a short span, Chatsworth Kindergarten has risen to prominence in its educational circle. By adopting a fun-based approach to learning, this school has won the hearts of its students and parents alike, so much so that its classes are almost fully booked up till 2009. Part of its success stems from its energetic and charismatic Principal. Cathy, together with her team of dedicated teachers, has made an indelible impact in these young minds that learning is fun. Mrs Jennifer Halkett, Cathy’s mother, is 71 and lives a quiet life in Batemans Bay, Australia, two hours from the capital Canberra. She has six grandchildren. She takes the HIDI questionnaire.

Mrs Yeo Lee Choo is the mother of Singaporean swim sensation Joscelin Yeo. Joscelin, an honours graduate of The University of Texas at Austin's College of Education, 4 time Olympian and winner of 40 gold medals in swimming at the Southeast Asian Games. Yeo's prolific list of athletic accomplishments includes participation in the Barcelona, Atlanta and Sydney and Greece Olympics, being named collegiate All-America swimmer 21 times and being selected an Academic All-American. While attending The University of Texas at Austin, Yeo was a 10-time Big 12 Champion, helped the Texas swimming team in winning two Big 12 Championships and is the Big 12 and school record holder in the 200 Individual Medley. Mrs Yeo takes our HIDI questionnaire to tell us how she raised a swim champion.

Dr Richard Woolfson is a child psychologist working with children and their families. He is also an author and writes on child and family development for magazines - including Practical Parenting - as well as being a member of the Guardian newspaper's Parents Panel. He has a weekly column in The Herald, dealing with parenting problems. He resides in the UK with his wife.

Mrs Rosie Tan is very publicity shy and routinely declines interviews for the mainstream newspapers and magazines. A pharmacist by profession she raised two exceptionally successful daughters: Sulian Tan-Wijaya, Director, Service Quality Division at the Singapore Tourism Board and Sushan Tan, Managing Director, Global Market Manager-Singapore, The Citigroup. Both women have lived and worked in the UK, US, Japan and Indonesia but are now based in Singapore. Mrs Tan, now in her 60s, retired at 55 to help raise her grandchildren. She believes parenting is the key to a better society.
